Approximately 90 Catholic men from Grand Bahama heard from a variety of speakers on ways to deal with the obstacles that a secular society sets in front of males and that serve to pull them away from a strong relationship with God and with their families.
The men attended the two-day event which began at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, where they also heard of the theological hope that brings individuals the strength to be real men of faith in their beliefs, and, how to better prioritize the true meaning of their faith in every part of their lives.
The conference brought Catholic men together for an opportunity to nurture, renew or establish a relationship with Christ, to advance and grow in their Catholic faith, and to examine their lives as husbands, fathers and members of their communities.
A group of Catholic young men also heard from Keith Roberts of Nassau and Joseph Pinder during a special youth forum on the wonders and truth about their Catholic faith, and how to promote a deeper understanding of their dignity as Catholics created in the image and likeness of God. They also heard about how to find direction and resources to help transform themselves, their families and society.
The event closed out on Saturday evening with an appreciation dinner when Roman Catholic Archbishop Patrick Pinder spoke on the precepts of the Catholic Church.
During the regular mass on Saturday evening at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Pincer blessed Catholic men from Grand Bahama who had just completed the first Catholic Men's Conference under the theme, "Renew Your Faith."
The presenters at the conference were deacons Jeffrey Lloyd and Jeffrey Hollingsworth, fathers Remy David, David Cooper, and Reginald Demeritte, lay speakers, Dr. George Charite (health), Leo Hepburn (finance), and Basil Christie (insurance).
