    Step on the Enemy 2

By Chakara Bennett ~ Guardian Summer Intern:

J.A. All Stars, Radicals for Christ and Trinity Phi, and the Conquering Warriors will bring the house down with their stepping moves during the second "Step on the Enemy Christian Step Competition on Saturday put on by Synergy Soldiers for Christ (SSC).

In between group performances there will also be performances from guest artists Rocky Solomon, Angelica, Leah, Church of God Mass Choir and Manifest. Shachah Dance Ministries group (VS1), a sister dance group of SSC will do a dance exhibition.

The step competition will be held at the All Saints Community Center in Joan's Heights, South Beach.

If you enjoyed the competition last year then you know how amazing SSC events and competitions are. In fact, Nathaniel Adams, 21, director and founder of SSC says this year's event will be even more spiritually explosive and better than it was last year, and says he and his 11-man step crew are extremely excited about the event

"This is the second time that we are doing this and it's a miracle the way it comes together each time. We are so excited to see what kind of competition will be coming to our event. Last year was great, but this year it is even bigger and there are far more people interested in competing. We are really glad that this competition will be even better because more people will come to be supportive or they're just genuinely interested or curious. This is good because our objective is to use stepping as an excuse to gather a crowd so that we can tell them about Christ in one way or the other."

J.A. Allstars, Radicals for Christ and Trinity Phi will compete in the senior division. The Conquering Warriors for Christ are registered to participate in the junior division.

Although SSC won't compete, because they don't want to discourage other groups from not competing, they say their performance will still be electrifying.

There will also be a SSC special challenge where the group will perform after all the other groups in accordance with the judges' rules. The group will be scored the same way the challengers were scored and if another groups scores exceed SSCs, they will not only win the competition but also the SSC challenge, and capture the floating trophy. The win will entitle them to return to the competition the following year to defend their title.

"Our group won't be in the competition but we still wanted to do a little more to sweeten the pot. So groups have the opportunity to not only win the competition but to attempt to defeat us and take our title. If they win they will be known as the best but if no one does, we hold on to our title for one more year," said Adams.

And what is any event without food and drinks? Wings, macaroni, conch fritters, an assortment of cakes, soft drinks among other things will be available at the event also.
